Two Lanes To Death….

Day dreaming during our weekly developer meeting on Monday mornings… I’m looking out the window at the stretch of Richmond Ave that ends when the windows meet the wall. What if the two lane street ended where my sight of Richmond ended? What if because I couldn’t see the rest of the road, the cars traveling down Richmond, while I watched from the top floor of the office building, simply careened off a cliff into a rock filled valley? What if their mere existence and safe travels only existed while I looked upon them and imagined them arriving incident free? What if every time I blinked, they found themselves not in control of their cars but helplessly wondering if this would be their demise? Normal heart rate turned to quickened pulse and shortness of breath filled with worry and fear, terrifying fear… the employee, the employee’s term at the company, the manager, sometime attentive, sometime neglectful, always controlling the existence of the employee’s existence with that one employer, until the wall is reached, now we have to part ways…
